Welcome to the website of Giffnock Curling Club. Established in 1930, we have a wide range of members from the hugely experienced to the relative novice. All are welcome to our extremely sociable club.

We run two club competitions - the Swan which pits the best skips and teams against each other and the Terregles in which we give less experienced players the opportunity to be a skip. We also participate in a number of Glasgow province competitions and run our own Club 'Bonspiels' to which we invite teams from across Glasgow.

Our Annual 'Points' competition normally takes place at Christmas time and is followed by a meal. We also run a 'pairs' competition which pits teams of two, rather than the usual four, against each other. All are played in great spirit and provide the opportunity for newer members to meet more people.

Talking of new members, we are always keen to invite along novices who wish to build up their curling skills. These members are invited to be reserves which means they take part in fewer games and need only pay a minimal  'ice ' fee for the games in which they participate.

And the highpoint of the year for many is the annual prize-giving dinner which is a great night of fellowship, fine (and sometimes even quite funny) speeches and includes the award to our 'most improved curler' and the wooden spoon to the least successful team.

If you've been inspired by the great TV coverage that our successful Scottish curlers have been receiving in recent years, why not come along and try curling? Our secretary would be delighted to arrange a session so, just complete the contact form, and he'll be in touch. Meanwhile, you can read more about the club on the following pages. Enjoy!
